Dr. Stacey Zlotnick

Dr. Zlotnick is a Psychology Resident and receives supervision from Dr. Kierce. She has a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the combined program at Stanford University School of Medicine and Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. She completed her clinical training at Oakland Children’s Hospital, VA Palo Alto Health Care System- Menlo Park Division, University of California, San Diego, and was a predoctoral psychology intern at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, an APA accredited program. She is also Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician. Prior to joining Psychoanalytic Center for Development, she was a clinical director at Solara Mental Health, a residential treatment facility in San Diego. 

Dr. Zlotnick has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in various contexts and with diverse presentations. She has treated veterans and homeless individuals who suffered from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, as well as children with autism spectrum disorders utilizing Dr. Stanley Greenspan’s Floortime Therapy. She has also conducted psychological and psychoeducational assessments for diagnostic clarification of learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, attention difficulties, neuropsychological functioning, assessment of personality functioning, and mood disorders.

Dr. Zlotnick is passionate about helping individuals come to a place of understanding and empowerment. Compassion, mindfulness, and a humanistic approach blended with the theoretical foundations of MBT, CBT, and Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO DBT) form the foundation of her work. Her clinical interests include psychological assessment, advocacy for children, emotional intelligence, compassion, mindfulness with mentalization to improve interpersonal functioning, empowerment, person-centered, and strength-based treatment.
